What we work on
Responsible mining and environmental restoration
Working with organized small-scale miners on land reclamation, water protection and pollution prevention.
Mining is central to the Western Region’s economy and to the damage done to its rivers and farmland. ACEPS works with organized small-scale miners rather than against them, on the premise that lasting change comes from informed practice, not enforcement alone.
The work covers responsible practice and the regulations that govern it, land restoration and reclamation, and protecting the water sources that whole communities draw on. Chiefs and local authorities are trained alongside miners, because decisions about land are made together.
